Another good weigh in with the weight-loss trend continuing at about the same rate. Hoping to be back in the 250lbs next rotation. The big win is that this is a stone shifted in less than 3 months. The path to 15 stone is looking good at this rate.
In bad news, I went to get my injured ankle reassessed by my physio and can confirm that it is f*cked. The calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) that stabilises my heel has been damaged so many times that it is now too lax to keep everything working as needed.
Can attest, that this test feels gross when your heel bone isn’t properly connected to your shin bone.
This has manifested as a chronically painful ankle where, every time I heel strike, my heel can move in ways it isn’t supposed to and everything around it flares up.
Yay!
Next steps, get a referral for an MRI, see what the damage looks like on the inside, and try and get lined up for surgery to clean up, tighten, and re-stabilise things.
The good news is that, despite not functioning as expected, the other strengthening work I’ve been doing seems to be limited the damage to the point of ‘not getting any worse’. So I’m just going to crack on with getting back to some training, with judicious use of tape and anti-inflammatories.
